Specifically, let's pray for peace of mind and of heart. These men and women have seen the unimaginable. They have been on the front lines of war where pain, suffering, and grief is rampant. As a result, their hearts and minds likely have troubled times. Surely, they have moments (or seasons) where they lack peace of mind.
So let's pray for PEACE.
A peace that ONLY Jesus gives: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 14:27; John 16:33
While we cannot fathom what these men and women have seen and been through, we CAN ask Jesus to encourage their hearts and give them His whole & perfect peace.

Today, along with my children, we pray for our country's veterans. We pray for those who have sacrificed and served on behalf of our freedom. We pray for those who have seen and experienced the turmoil and devastation of war. We pray for their hearts and minds. May they find peace in You. If their hearts are troubled and they are afraid, may they take heart in trusting and believing that You have overcome evil and You are the giver of a peace that is perfectly whole; a peace that surpasses all our human understanding.
May You give them this peace at all times and in every way. May you be with them all! [2 Thessalonians 3:16]
